Since 2009, RIZE Robotics has inspired young innovators through hands-on LEGO® robotics programs featuring LEGO® EV3, WeDo, SPIKE™, and CS-AI. Designed for students in grades K–6, our classes introduce the fundamentals of building, coding, and engineering in a fun, interactive environment. As students bring their creations to life, they develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and STEM skills while fueling their passion for LEGO® building and exploration.
Our VEX IQ program empowers students in grades 4–8 to design, build, and program custom robots that can be remotely controlled or autonomously coded to complete exciting mission-based challenges. Along the way, students gain hands-on experience with engineering design, coding, sensors, and advanced robotics technologies. From ultrasonic sensors to pneumatic systems, participants develop a strong foundation in robotics while building creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
Since 2018, RIZE Robotics has qualified 10 teams to compete at the prestigious VEX IQ World Championships, showcasing the skills and dedication of our students on the world stage.
Ever had an idea you wanted to bring to life? In our exciting 3D Printing & Design class, students learn the complete design process by creating their own original 3D models using Tinkercad, a beginner-friendly computer-aided design (CAD) program used by makers, engineers, and educators around the world. As they progress through the course, students discover how to transform simple shapes into detailed designs while developing creativity, spatial reasoning, and engineering skills.
Once their designs are complete, students prepare their projects for 3D printing and learn how modern 3D printers turn digital models into real-world objects. Along the way, they will explore concepts such as measurement, precision, prototyping, and design iteration thus learning how engineers improve their ideas through testing and refinement.
Whether students are designing simple keychains or solving a problem for the world, this hands-on class encourages innovation, problem-solving, and imagination. By the end of the program, students will have gained valuable experience with 3D design software, an understanding of additive manufacturing, and the confidence to turn their ideas into reality.
Turn imagination into interactive games in our Game Design class! Designed for students in grades K–8, this hands-on program introduces the fundamentals of coding through the exciting world of video game creation. Younger students can build colorful, interactive games using the Scratch easy-to-learn, drag-and-drop programming, while older students can advance their skills with Microsoft MakeCode Arcade to create retro-style games complete with animations, sound effects, and scoring systems.
As students design their own characters, levels, and gameplay, they will learn essential programming concepts such as sequencing, loops, variables, events, and conditional logic. Along the way, they will strengthen valuable skills such as problem-solving, creativity, critical thinking, and computational thinking as they test, debug, and improve their games.
Whether creating a fast-paced arcade challenge, an adventure game, or an original interactive story, students are encouraged to express their creativity while building real coding skills. By the end of the course, each student will have developed games they can share with friends and family while gaining confidence in programming and a deeper understanding of how the games they love are created.
